M.TECH BIOTECHNOLOGY PROJECT

The M.Tech Biotechnology program (2025-2027) commenced in Oct 2025, Department of Biotechnology, Vignan’s University is uniquely strengthened by a first-of-its-kind industry immersion model, thoughtfully designed in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes experiential learning, industry relevance, and outcome-based education. This immersion model integrates advanced academics with structured industrial exposure at Virchow Biotech Private Limited, translating theory into practice, bridging the academia industry gap, developing job-ready professionals, and establishing a sustainable talent pipeline for contemporary biotechnology challenges. Vignan’s University gratefully acknowledge the support extended by the Virchow Foundation (VF) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. This CSR support stands as a testament to VF’s visionary approach in strengthening industry–academia collaboration and fostering a future-ready workforce through sustained educational intervention. The first batch M.Tech Biotechnology (2024-2026) program commenced on 28th August 2024, and we are pleased to report that it has been running successfully. The sponsorship has covered the salary of the Program Manager (Dr V. Sugunakar, Professor of Practice) and stipend to students (nine in number), which has greatly alleviated financial concerns for the participants and allowed them to focus entirely on their academic pursuits. We are also delighted to inform you that our students after completion of the academic program, have reported to VBPL on 09-06-2025. We anticipate that their enhanced skills and advanced knowledge will contribute significantly to the organization’s research and development initiatives, particularly in biotechnology-driven projects.
